Hello!
My name is Linn, I'm 21 years old, and I come from Sweden.
I hate my username, and wish there was some way to change it without having to create a completely new dA account. The reason I hate my username is: The Nightwish I have loved ever since 1997 is not Nightwish anymore. Imaginaerum is not Nightwish. No, that album is a disgrace to what they used to be. Come on, a friggin' jazz song in the middle of the album? I mean, sure, I love jazz, and the song's great, but it does not fit in with Nightwish or the rest of the album. Furthermore, "Song of Myself" is just a giant mindfuck, which I say with complete seriousness in my voice (yes, you can't hear me, obviously, but still). I figure that Tuomas Holopainen is trying to sum up his time with Nightwish with that song... However, the song ends up being odd and a little scary. It actually sounds like he's about to off himself, that or ending Nightwish. Fortunately, I can go back to their older albums, but just knowing that they will never ever be as awesome as back then ever again kind of hurts.

Anyway, I am studying to become a translator, and, I have recently written a C-essay (Bachelor's degree) in English linguistics, with a focus on pragmatics (the work of Paul Grice in combination with the famous series The Big Bang Theory). There I analysed the language use in the series, and how implicature and Grice's Cooperative principle and conversational maxims can be linked to the creation of humour in the series, and possibly explain how humour is created in TBBT.
